Hmmm... [Oct. 9th, 2008|12:10 am]

Hey everyone!
Well my name is Cynthia and I had my Interview on September 26th for the CP. I think it went really well. But of course the skeptic in me knows that
there is still the possibility that I might not get in. I have been racking my brain on all the positives to and negatives not to go. But I've decided that if I do get in with any of the positions I asked for which followed in this order I will go:

1. attractions
2. resort hospitality
3. merchandise

I was just wondering a few things she asked me which attractions/ rides were my favorite and I told her the truth I love love love the Carousel
of Progress and One Man's Dream in MGM because I feel like it truly captures what Walt Disney envisioned for the World. And even
though that answer totally excited my interviewer because it hit home with her and her CP year, I'm not really sure if it would be the most exciting place to work. It's always so slow paced and not too much crowd. I don't know. Thoughts on being placed there? Also I know they give you the whole 2-4 week period before you receive a rejection/ acceptance letter. I was just curious as to how long it took for some of you to receive your letters? Oh the agony! :]

Hey everyone!
Well, a recruiter will be going to my campus next wednesday.

I'm pretty nervous.
I just dyed my sides of my hair blonde and the rest of my hair black.

Do you think that my hair looking like that would hurt my chances for the interviews?
Another thing, what should I wear to the interview?

I'll be applying for the Spring Advantage for Fast Food, attractions, or merchandise.

I just hope I get accepted either way.

Reading Material [Sep. 25th, 2008|02:01 pm]

For the true Disney nerd... there's a new book out titled "Mouse Machine - Disney and Technology". It's a little bit scholarly-ish which can make it a bit harder to read but the book is FILLED with gems! I have to admit that I am only into the second chapter but so far I have learned tons of wonderful little bits of information. So if you're looking for a good book to read - perhaps some reading material on your way to Orlando for a college program - check this book out.

Hi! I just had my interview the other day for Spring 09.
I applied for Merchandise and being a lifeguard.
I was wondering if someone can give me the pros/cons of both.

WDW College Program
Hey Everyone!

I'm looking to go for the WDWCP in the Spring of 2009;  i'm really interested in the Hospitality and Vacation Planner Roles and was wondering if anyone out there knew what type of questions they asked in the interview for them?
I'm also going for merchandise and FSFB

Thanks for the help!

My interview is Monday evening at 8:30 with Wendy! I can't wait! I'm going to end up asking for a Merchandise position as my #1, with character attendant as my #2.  Are there any tricky questions they ask you for any of these rolls? I'm most worried about the "what if a guest comes for an item and you have it no longer in stock?" question. I guess I'd answer 'We can order it for them and have it shipped to their house (although...do they even do this??) or you can visit one of the many other retail stores within WDW and they'll most-likely have it.'. Does that sound like a good answer?

I'm SOOO nervous you have no idea.

HELP! I just enrolled in my local community college for 12 credits, a full-time student. I'm a freshman. I plan on applying and doing to WDWCP in Spring '09. I told my academic advisor about this, and she had never heard about it in her life. I'm majoring in Biology, and in high school I completed an advanced class for Bio 101 and 102 (8 credits), and I have 3 (or 4?) other art credits already. So by January I'll have around 25 credits for my first semester. I'm so confused on what to do though. If I go to the CP, do I stay enrolled in my college, or do I leave? Also, by taking the semester off, would I be caught up enough to be a sophomore when I go back to college next year? I had all these questions prepared when I registered but the lady had no idea what I was talking about at all. I plan on taking some courses while I'm at Disney, but I don't know what they'll count towards. Please help, and thanks!

Disney Blogs? [Jun. 24th, 2008|08:11 pm]

Hi. I'm interested in reading some blogs that people wrote during their internship at Disney. I'm writing a book about a girl who works at a theme park, and I don't want to leave anything out--I want to know about your good times (Magical Moments, Pleasure Island, etc!) and your bad times (mean guests, ride breakdowns!) I'm looking for some ideas, mainly just to see which experiences at Disney were the most memorable to other people.

Rereading my own entries from my internship have made me so nostalgic! I miss how exciting life seemed every single day. (By the way, if you want to read my wide-eyed wonder ramblings, go to http://1stthings1st.livejournal.com/2006. Just be prepared to read about a lot of my "firsts.")

I actually have an excerpt from my old Disney blog under the cut that I think will remind a lot of you of your internship:
Neon dinosaur pantsCollapse )

Also, I heard somewhere that there actually is a book about working at Disney, or something mocking it? (Other than Kingdom Keepers.) Does anybody know what that is?
